Teamwork is...
People who work together in a certain activity. The activity can be large or small. You can have as many as twenty people -or more!- or have as little as two. You can't have under two people in a team. Me, myself and I doesn't count. You can work with yourself but there's no identifiable teamwork at all. It's not very hard to get along with yourself after all.
My judo team and I worked together. we helped each other learn and memorize the techniques we needed. We made sure to get along with each other on the long car and van rides up and down to tornaments all over the state. We supported each other and cheered each other on when we were competing. We cheered when someone won and congratulated them when they lost and took it gracefully. We joke and reassured each other when we were on deck and hugged us when we came back, hair askew and our gi's crooked. That's what teamwork is.
When scandal came and tore the team apart, our
family apart, it took a while for trust to build again. We had been betrayed by someone we all loved, someone who had been the glue that held our determination together. He was one of our team leaders and he had hurt us. It was a raw pain when that trust was stripped away. We pulled through though, and that skin grew back, but it was never the same. The person that had betrayed us was an example of bad teamwork.(team leadership) If he had kept his responsibility and scruples our team would have never been where it was for a while.
